The badge "Excellent student of the socialist competition of the USSR Ministry of Communications"

Bronze, gilding, stamping. The original sign is in excellent condition. MMD. Departmental insignia of the USSR Ministry of Communications. This type of badge was issued in different variations depending on the period. The early types (since 1946) were made of heavy metal (bronze, tompack) with hot enamel and screw mounting. Later Soviet editions (1970s-1980s) were made of light metal (aluminum) on a hairpin or pin. Many copies were minted at the Moscow Mint (MMD). The badge was awarded to highly qualified workers, engineers, signallers and employees of enterprises and organizations of the Ministry of Communications of the USSR, who showed outstanding success in work, exceeded plans and won socialist competitions.
