The badge "Excellent Student of aviation" of the 1947 model

The original Soviet military badge, awarded to particularly distinguished servicemen of the rank-and-file and non-commissioned personnel of the Air Force and Air Defense Aviation of the USSR. The item is in good, honest collector's condition, the enamel is chipped. The sign is made of brass (tompak) by high-quality artistic stamping and is covered with hot enamels (ruby red, white and light blue). The surface retains the bright colors of the enamels with minimal traces of use, as well as the noble natural patina on the gilded details.

The composition of the sign has a complex, expressive shape in the form of a figured shield superimposed on an oak wreath. The surface of the shield is covered with light blue enamel. In the center is a round medallion with bright red enamel, on which the gilded Hammer and Sickle symbol is embossed in relief. The medallion is framed by a white enamel belt, on which the inscription is embossed separately (in two lines).: in the upper part — "EXCELLENT STUDENT", in the lower — "AVIATION". The lower part of the sign is decorated with the official emblem of Soviet aviation — outstretched wings with a crossed propeller, in the center of which is a small five-pointed red star.

On the reverse of the sign there is a deep pronounced counter-relief, characteristic of stamped products of Soviet factories. The original mounting pin (screw) is installed in the center. The thread on the pin is intact, the screw was not shortened. There is an even age-old patina on the metal, confirming the solid age and authenticity of the object.

A beautiful, historically significant example of the post-war period, which will be a worthy addition to the collection of Soviet military faleristics and insignia of the special forces.
