| The original. |
An original and extremely rare medal in excellent condition. St. Petersburg Mint. The diameter is 28 mm. Silver, stamping. The shoe and tape are original. In the center of the obverse of the medal is the profile of Emperor Alexander III, facing to the right. Around the circle there is a text in the Old Slavonic language: "B. M. ALEXANDER III IMP. AND SAMOD. VSEROSS." ("By the Grace of God, Alexander III, Emperor and Autocrat of All Russia"). On the smooth reverse is the inscription "For the salvation of the dead." The medal was awarded to people of all classes for exploits of humanity. It was given for saving people in situations where the savior himself seriously risked his life: during fires, during the rescue of drowning people, during natural disasters. Medals of the reign of Alexander III are extremely rare. Guarantee of authenticity.
