Badge of an officer of the Life Guards of the Moscow Regiment, mod. 1911

The original badge, officially approved on April 15, 1911 in honor of the 100th anniversary of the military unit. The drawing of this award was designed by the famous battle artist Nikolai Samokish. Bronze, enamel, silver plating. The sign is based on an oblique cross covered with blue enamel with a gold rim. It symbolizes the regiment's continuity from the old Russian Guard, as the regiment was formed in 1811 from a battalion of the oldest Life Guards Preobrazhensky Regiment. The Latin letters S.A.R.P. at the ends of the cross stand for "Sanctus Andreas Russiae Patronus", which means "Saint Andrew is the patron saint of Russia". A relief figure of the Holy Great Martyr George the Victorious in knight's armor on a horse striking a winged dragon (snake) with a spear is superimposed on top of the cross. This element directly indicates the name of the regiment — Moskovsky. Rare. Guarantee of authenticity.
