Bronze medal of the participant of the "German Combat Games", 1934

The original large medal for the 3rd place, in excellent condition, on the original ribbon. Zinc, stamping, bronzing, patination. In the center of the obverse is a stylized imperial eagle with outstretched wings, standing on a bunch of banners and oak branches. There is an inscription in German around the circumference: DEUTSCHE KAMPFSPIELE 1934. The reverse in the center depicts the Imperial eagle of Germany, the coat of arms of Hamburg and the names of cities (Halle, Hamburg, Kiel, Mainz, München, Nuremberg), as well as the inscription "DEM SIEGER" ("To the Victor"). Relief images of various sports are arranged in a circle. Medalist: Oskar Glöckler, Stuttgart-Berlin. The diameter is 80 mm. Husken 05.05.09/42. Guarantee of authenticity.

"German fighting games". The Deutsche Kampfspiele were established in Germany in 1922 as the national equivalent of the Olympic Games, to which the country was temporarily not invited after the First World War. The 1934 Games were held in Nuremberg. After the NSDAP came to power, these sports competitions were actively used by the Nazi regime to promote physical culture and prepare for the upcoming 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin.  In the following years (1937-1938), the format of the games changed, and they transformed into the paramilitary "NSDAP Fighting Games" (NS-Kampfspiele).
