The original magazine is in good collector's condition. The cover depicts the Soviet sniper Ivan Semenovich Lugovskoy (in the caption to the photo on the cover, he is listed as P. Lugovskoy). Ivan Lugovskoy was a sniper in the 14th separate Motorized Rifle reconnaissance company of the 13th Infantry Division on the Leningrad Front. By July 1942, he had killed more than 140 enemies. He was a student of the famous sniper Feodosi Smolyachkov, whose name is also mentioned in the text on the cover as the initiator of the sniper movement. The format is 270*340 mm. Ogonek is a Russian and Soviet socio-political, literary and artistic illustrated weekly magazine. The magazine was published in Moscow from 1923 to 2021.
