Brass, enamel, gilding. The original emblem, which first appeared on the TVs of the Lviv Television factory "Verkhovyna" in 1962. Later it was installed on Ogonyok TVs. In addition to the direct purpose (as the logo of "LTZ" on early models of televisions), the factory workers gradually took away social property in the face of nameplates, which later became quite nice frachniki. To do this, it was enough to remove the standard mount and solder a needle in its place — thus, a classic-sized brass badge with gilding and two-color hot enamel was obtained. Such a product looked very impressive. Guarantee of authenticity.
LTZ is the Lviv Television Plant, one of the few enterprises in Ukraine that survived the post-perestroika apocalypse and the collapse of the USSR, and, it seems, feels very good under the guise of the diversified concern Elektron. However, today we will talk about the earliest years of the plant's existence, during which it wore the abbreviation "LTZ", which, as an emblem, was displayed not only on early samples of the plant's products, but also as an ornament on the clothes of its employees.
Historically, LTZ did not arise from scratch. On the basis of the electrical engineering company Kontakt, which existed since 1918 (produced electrical measuring instruments, electric motors, telephones, etc.) and the Vodomer company (production of meters), on July 6, 1955, as a result of the unification of the electromechanical workshops of these two enterprises, a "Measuring Instrument Factory" was established in Lviv, the main products of which were a wide variety of counters. 2.5 years later, on October 4, 1957, by resolution No. 57 of the Council of National Economy of the Lviv Economic District, the Lviv Television Plant — LTZ was established.
The first mass-produced products rolled off the assembly lines already in 1958. It is the Lviv TVs (the Record TVs of the Alexandrovsky Radio Factory were taken as the basis for the design) with a kinescope size of 43 cm, and in 1959 an improved Lviv-2 model appeared. In 1960, a new Verkhovyna model was launched, which at that time, according to some sources, was recognized as the best television receiver in the USSR. Since 1962, the production of a black-and-white television receiver of the Verkhovyna-A model with a 43LK2B kinescope and the corresponding space design style of the instruction began.
The year 1961 (considered to be a reference year) became a landmark not only for the USSR. This year, LTZ, with the participation of the Moscow Scientific Research Television Institute, is releasing a new TV model — Ogonek. It was a tube (16 radio tubes and 20 diodes, later 17 radio tubes and 22 diodes) unified second—class television with a kinescope size of 43 cm. Ogonek was launched into mass production only in 1963, but already with a 47LK1B type kinescope (since 1965 — 47LK2B and 47LK2B-C kinescopes) with a beam deflection angle of 110 ° and an image size of 385x305 mm from the Lviv Kinescope Factory. The sensitivity of the TV at 50 MV made it possible to receive programs from television studios or repeaters at a distance of up to 100 kilometers or more when using an outdoor antenna raised to a height of up to 15 meters (information from the website http://laz-legend.ru/history/ltz.html )
