Wood, varnish. Hand-painted with paints. The artist is A. Semenova. Size 169*112*43 mm. The highlighted fragment of the image shows a vintage jewelry box made using the Palekh lacquer miniature technique. It is handmade, covered with black lacquer on the outside and decorated with intricate tempera painting using gold leaf. On the lid is a dynamic scene with a fiery team flying across the sky (probably a fabulous or mythological chariot with horses), surrounded by swirling clouds and a starry sky with a stylized crescent moon. The serial inventory number of the product 4594 is marked in the lower left corner.The edges of the lid and the sides of the box are decorated with canonical Palekh gold ornaments ("mat" or fine knitting).
