Anatoly Semenovich Topaller (November 13, 1911 — January 16, 1996) was a squadron commander of the 3rd Light Bomber Aviation Regiment of the 8th Army, captain. Hero of the Soviet Union. He was born on November 13, 1911 in the regional center of the Lugansk region of Ukraine. He worked as a model maker at a locomotive factory. He served in the Red Army since 1929. In 1935, he graduated from the Borisoglebsk School of military pilots. He participated in the Soviet-Finnish War of 1939-1940. By March 1940, he had carried out 25 combat sorties to reconnoiter and bomb enemy troops, causing significant damage to them in manpower and equipment. On May 19, 1940, Captain Anatoly Semenovich Topaller was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal "for exemplary performance of combat missions of the command at the front and his bravery and heroism." He participated in the Great Patriotic War since August 1941. Since 1945, Lieutenant Colonel Topaller has been in the reserve and then retired. He lived in the city of Gaisin, Vinnytsia region of Ukraine. He died on January 16, 1996.
