History

Alexey Konstantinovich Ryazanov (February 27, 1920 — August 1, 1992) was a participant in the Great Patriotic War, squadron commander of the 4th Fighter Aviation Regiment of the 287th Fighter Aviation Division of the 4th Air Army of the North Caucasian Front, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Major General of Aviation (1970). Honored Military Pilot of the USSR (1967).


He was born on February 27, 1920 in the village of Bolshaya Kochetovka (now in the Tokarevsky district of the Tambov region) in a peasant family. He graduated from grades 7 and the Federal Law School. He worked on the construction of the subway in Moscow, then as a locksmith at a factory. He served in the Red Army since 1939. In the spring of 1941, he graduated from the Borisoglebsk Military Aviation School of Pilots.


He had a wife, Matryona Pavlovna Anciperova (1918-2016).Since June 1941, Senior Lieutenant A. K. Ryazanov has been in the active army. Until October 1941, he served in the 28th Fighter Aviation Regiment; until June 1942 — in the 736th IAP; until January 1945 — in the 4th IAP. He worked his way up from an ordinary pilot (1941-1942) to deputy commander of a fighter aviation regiment (1944-1945). He fought on the Southwestern, Central, Bryansk, Stalingrad, Southern, North Caucasian and 2nd Baltic fronts. By May 1943, Major A. K. Ryazanov, squadron commander of the 4th Fighter Aviation Regiment (287th Fighter Aviation Division, 4th Air Army, North Caucasus Front), had flown 300 combat missions, conducted 67 air battles, and personally shot down 16 enemy aircraft and 16 as part of a group. On August 24, 1943, he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union for his courage and bravery shown in battles with enemies.


By February 1945, the deputy commander of the same regiment (185th Fighter Aviation Division, 14th Fighter Aviation Corps, 15th Air Army, 2nd Baltic Front), Major A. K. Ryazanov, had flown 509 combat missions, conducted 97 air battles, in which he shot down 31 enemy aircraft personally and 16 more — in a group with friends. He was wounded three times. On August 18, 1945, he was awarded the second Gold Star medal.


After the war, he remained in the Soviet Air Force. He graduated from the Frunze Military Academy in 1950 and the Military Academy of the General Staff in 1958. Since 1950, he worked at the headquarters of the Moscow Military District, then at the headquarters of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the country. Since 1959, he has been responsible for the military, since 1962 at the headquarters of the country's Air Defense Forces. Major General of Aviation A. K. Ryazanov has been in reserve since August 1975. He lived in Moscow. He died on August 1, 1992.
