The original pre-revolutionary commemorative badge (medal), issued for the centenary of the great Russian poet. The item is in good collector's condition with honest traces of time, without restorations and modern interventions. The badge is made of bronze by high-quality artistic stamping. The metal surface is covered with a noble, smooth natural patina, which emphasizes the solid age and authenticity of the object.
The composition of the token is concise and expressive. On the obverse (front side) in the center there is a relief portrait of Alexander Pushkin in profile, facing to the left. To the right of the portrait, a clear inscription in pre-reform Russian script is embossed in a semicircle along the side: "A. S. PUSHKIN". The entire composition is framed by an elegant dotted rim around the circumference. The original all-stamped eyelet for wearing on a ribbon or chain is preserved in the upper part of the token.
On the reverse (reverse side), traditionally for this issue, there is a commemorative date "MAY 26, 1899" (or "1799-1899"), enclosed in a similar dotted rim. The relief of the inscriptions and dates has retained good detail.
A historically significant example of pre-revolutionary memorial sculpture of the late 19th century, which will be an excellent addition to the collection of Russian numismatics, phaleristics or a thematic collection dedicated to the memory of Alexander Pushkin.
