Award medal "For Diligence" during the reign of Alexander II

The original Imperial state award. The item is in good collector's condition, with no visible signs of restoration, soldering of the eyelet, or gross mechanical interference. The medal is made of high-grade silver by the method of stamped coinage on St. Petersburg Mint. The surface has retained a clear relief of the details of the portrait and the circular inscription, and is also covered with a noble age-old patina, emphasizing its considerable age. The composition of the obverse is a chest portrait of the mature Emperor Alexander II in profile, facing to the left. The neck circumcision (depending on the stamp) may contain the microinitials of a well-known mint medallion. The portrait is bordered by a strict circular inscription in pre-revolutionary script: "ALEXANDER II IMP. AND BY MYSELF. ALL-RUSSIAN. THE TSAR OF POLAND." The mention of the title "Tsar of Poland" makes this variety especially interesting for historians and collectors, recording an important historical stage in the empire. On the reverse (reverse side) there is traditionally a horizontal inscription "FOR DILIGENCE", underlined by a curly straight line, surrounded by a laurel, oak or palm branch. An authentic rounded eyelet is molded in the center of the upper part of the disc for attachment to a shoe or an order ribbon. The geometry of the disc is correct, without bends, the edge is smooth, without signs of cuts. A beautiful authentic copy of the era of the "Great Reforms", which will serve as an excellent addition to the collection of pre-revolutionary Russian faleristics and award medals of the 19th century.
