Description

The original sign, approved on October 8, 1913. 84-grade silver, gilding, enamel. Manufactured by K.I. Bok in Petrograd. The sign is an equilateral cross covered with transparent red enamel on a guilloched background, with gold and black rims around the edges. Crossed gilded swords are superimposed on the cross, and the composition is topped with a large Imperial crown. In the center of the bill of lading is a silver double-headed eagle, on which is superimposed the golden figured monogram "A" of the Heir of Tsarevich Alexei Nikolaevich, who was the Head of the school. The date "1864" is stamped on the lower blade of the cross — the year the educational institution was founded (originally as Moscow Infantry Cadet School). This badge was awarded to graduates who successfully completed the course of study, as well as to officers and class ranks who served at the college. One of the most beautiful Russian pre-revolutionary signs.
