The original 3.5x binoculars are in very good collector's condition. Bronze, lenses, leather. The binoculars consist of two optical tubes connected by a movable hinge that allows the observer to adjust the interpupillary distance, on the axis of which the central focusing mechanism is mounted. On the eyecups, the brands of the manufacturer "Lamaire Fab.t Paris" are a famous French company that existed from 1846 to 1955. The company was founded by Armand Lemaire in Paris. He was one of the first to replace manual labor with machines and introduce interchangeable parts. This made his optics high-quality and affordable. In 1885, after Lemaire's death, his son-in-law Jean Baptiste Baille took over the factory. The company became known as Baille-Lemaire and even managed to write itself into the history of the automotive industry, producing cars at the turn of the century. The company produced optics for both social life and harsh military needs. To prevent the binoculars from sliding in the hands of soldiers, the body was covered with thick black or brown leather. Lemaire optics were massively supplied to the army of the North during the American Civil War (1861-1865), and were also actively used by officers during the First World War. Guarantee of authenticity.
