The "League of Reservists of the Imperial Army" was established in 1910. Its main task was to train conscripts for army service. At first, the league trained soldiers only for land units, but from 1914 it began to train conscripts for the needs of the navy. In 1936, the "League of Reservists of the Imperial Army" was given the status of a department of the Military and Naval Ministries. The main membership badges of the "League of Reservists of the Imperial Army" were signs of two sizes: 27*43 mm and 18*27 mm. Larger signs were used in the period from 1910 to the first years of the reign of Showa (Shova - Japanese emperor 1928-1989). Smaller signs were officially introduced in 1940, but there are also earlier samples that have some differences.
