Storage, collection of antique weapons as well as business activities, purchase and sale of antiques or unique hand-made weapons in Russia can be made under Ministry of the Interior license accompanied by the conclusions of the historical-art expertise of the experts certified by the Russian Ministry of Culture. Today any weapon possessing a historic and cultural value should be registered by the State and included in the Museum fund of the Russian Federation in accordance with the Federal Law 54-FZ of May 26, 1996 «On the Museum Fund of the Russian Federation and the Museums of the Russian Federation», or otherwise such weapon should comply with the resolution of an authorized administrative body of the Russian Federation, or the federal executive body, under the Law 4804-I of the Russian Federation of April 15, 1993 «On Export and Import of Cultural Property», including any old (antique) weapons (firearms, missile and air guns manufactured before the end of 1899 (with the exception of firearms made for shooting), and cold steel – the sidearms manufactured before the end of 1945). The cultural value may also be the attribute of the categories of weapons listed below:

• the appearance and decoration which does not include any authentic elements of antique or other weapons;
• replicas of old (antique) weapons, e.g., the copies of any weapons made after the original or the detailed description, or the sample drawings of old (antique) weapons with varying creative design; an appearance or artistic decoration of cultural value as a model of artistic creativity and arts and crafts;
• deactivated firearm, i.e., the firearm, which major parts underwent technical changes, precluding the possibility of shooting it or using its basic parts;
• ammunition, including the projectiles of any form and structure which is intended for use in the cultural and educational activities with the ability to simulate a bullet shot by a complex light and sound action (which are actually the «gelded» weapons), and an ammunition without the ability to simulate a shot (training weapons) or intended for the demonstration of an interaction between the parts and mechanisms of weapons ( «cutout» weapons);
• deactivated gun cartridges – i.e., the cartridges for firearms with a holes drilled in them, for the extraction of the propelling charge and/or invalid means of a shot initiation.

For the acquisition of weapons of cultural value (this applies only to the decommissioned weapons, sidearms manufactured after 1945, long-barrel firearms, single-barreled muzzle-loading firearms and handguns that are not designed for shooting, manufactured before 1899) the mandatory licenses should be acquired by Russian citizens of 18 and more years old.

Therefore, all cold steel represented in our store is an antique and is subject to the Law on the historical monuments and historical and cultural values protection, it is subject to official customs clearance with the subsequent registration by the Russian Ministry of Culture. Every article is provided with a complete set of documents which includes a certified expert opinion made by the Ministry of Culture expert on antique weapons, storage recommendations, legal certificate, commodity and cash checks, etc.
