Bronze, enamel, gilding. MMD. The obverse depicts a figure of a metallurgist worker with the banner of the USSR, elements of an industrial enterprise (a mine digger or a blast furnace). At the bottom of the sign there is a stepped inscription: "Excellent student of the Ministry of Non-Ferrous Metallurgy social competition." The badge replaced the pre-war and military badge "Excellent Social Worker of the People's Commissariat of Color" after the People's Commissariats were transformed into Ministries in March 1946.
