Bronze, enamel, gilding, stamping. Type 2. The original sign is in very good collector's condition. This badge was considered the highest special award for gunners in the USSR. It was established on August 14, 1936 by order of the People's Commissar of Defense No. 150 on the initiative of the Main Artillery Directorate of the Red Army. It was awarded to the rank and file, command and commanding staff of artillery and artillery aviation for outstanding achievements in shooting and combat training. The base of the badge is made in the form of a golden artillery tablet with a red five-pointed star superimposed. Two crossed barrels of a 76.2 mm cannon of the 1902 model are located on top of the star, and field binoculars are located in the lower part. There are two main types of signs: Type No. 1 (1936 model) and type No. 2 (1946 model). The award ceremony lasted for more than 25 years and was officially discontinued on April 4, 1962.
