The badge "Excellent Healthcare Worker" was subsequently established in the USSR by the Ministry of Health on January 7, 1956. 16 years later, in order to streamline the awards, an updated order of the Ministry of Health dated September 7, 1972 No. 746 "On Approval of the Instructions on the procedure for awarding the badge to an Excellent Healthcare Worker" signed by Minister B. V. Petrovsky was issued.
