An original and quite rare sign in good condition. Bronze, enamel, gilding. The sign has an oval shape, framed by oak and laurel leaves. In the center is a figure of a Red Army soldier in an overcoat with a rifle against the background of the Kremlin's Spasskaya Tower. Without a twist. Guarantee of authenticity.
The badge was approved on November 14, 1939 by Resolution No. 1889 of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR. Soldiers, sailors, sergeants and petty officers were awarded for excellent combat and political training, exemplary service and excellent discipline. It was actively awarded in the period from 1939 to 1942, after which specialized honors badges for the branches of the armed forces began to be introduced (for example, "Excellent machine gunner", "Sniper", etc.). Early issues often had an ordinal number on the reverse, while later ones had no number.
