An original and rather rare sign in very good collector's condition. The sign is composite, consists of an overhead star and a base. Bronze, paint. The original twist is included. Size 22*26 mm. Guarantee of authenticity. In such preservation, signs with the original paint are extremely rare.
By order of the People's Commissar for Military Affairs Lev Trotsky of July 29, 1918, a "Red Army badge was introduced, which was supposed to be worn on the left side of the chest and a cockade badge" on the headdress. The Red Army badge was the same star, but with sharper rays, superimposed on a wreath of oak and laurel leaves of gray-silver color. The size is 7 in height, 5 centimeters in width. However, it was not possible to organize the standard production of these signs in the factory and supply them to the personnel. Red Army soldiers often made them themselves. Tin from cans became the most suitable material. This led to the fact that everyone independently decided on the shape and size of the asterisk. In addition, they were supplemented with homemade emblems indicating the type of troops - gunners, aviators, engineers.
