• Ilya Alekseevich Teslenko (1910-1991) was an outstanding Soviet marine officer. He received the title Hero of the Soviet Union for leading the landing in the Kerch-Feodosiya operation, and in 1943 he took an active part in the battles on the "Small Earth" near Novorossiysk.


• David Efimovich Nakhamin (1903-1983) was an experienced pilot. By the time the issue was published, he was a major in the Guard and commanded an aviation regiment. During the war, he flew hundreds of combat missions, shooting down several enemy aircraft personally and in a group.
