The text on the cover explains the plot: "An old Cossack volunteer, participant in the Civil War Mikhail Fedoseevich Grachev, awarded the Order of Lenin, presents a combat blade to a young Cossack." The event takes place in one of the famous Guards cavalry corps during the offensive battles of the Red Army in the summer and autumn of 1943. The format is 270*340 mm. Ogonek is a Russian and Soviet socio-political, literary and artistic illustrated weekly magazine. The magazine was published in Moscow from 1923 to 2021.
