The Red Army Man and the Red Navy Man is a well—known Soviet military-political, literary and artistic periodical published by the State Military Publishing House (Voenizdat).  The magazine was intended for mass reading among soldiers, sailors and junior commanders of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army (Red Army) and the Navy. The magazine has deep historical roots and has changed its name several times during its existence.:

• 1919-1928 — "Red Army Soldier";


• 1929-1938 — "The Red Army Man and the Red Navy Man";


• 1938-1947 — the name "Red Army Soldier" has been returned;


• 1947-1992 — the legendary magazine "Soviet Warrior";


• Since 1997, it has been published under the name "Warrior of Russia".

Periodicity: Published twice a month (biweekly magazine). The publication published socio-political articles, short stories, poems, essays on military service, as well as cartoons, photographs and materials on the elimination of illiteracy among soldiers. Today, the issues of the magazine "Red Army Man and Red Navy Man" (especially for the 1930s) are of great historical and second-hand book value. They serve as an important source of information about Soviet military propaganda, the life of the army of the pre-war period, as well as about the level of development of Soviet illustration and photojournalism of that era.
