A very rare full set of dress uniforms of a combined-arms general of the Red Army, mod. 1945, made for the Victory Parade of 1945. At the moment, this is the only such set of uniforms that is available on the Internet in our country and, most likely, in the world. The set includes a cap, a uniform, a gold metallic belt, gloves, boots and breeches.
The cap is made of high-quality woolen fabric. The crown is sewn from merino castor color "sea wave". A composite general's cockade, consisting of a base and an applied enamel asterisk of the 1936 model, is installed on the rim. The band is made of red cloth (somewhat faded from time and having minor damage in the back) and embroidered with gold embroidery. The sewing pattern consists of two laurel branches diverging from the center. The large stems and leaves of laurel branches are embroidered with gilded frills, and the small leaves are formed from gilded sequins sewn with a thread with gilded frills. Along the upper edge of the band has a red cloth edging, similar to the red cloth edging on the crown of the cap. The visor is fiber, black, with double-sided varnishing, slightly damaged by time. Above the visor there is a twisted gilded filigree cord in two rows, attached at the ends to two small metal buttons. Each button depicts the coat of arms of the USSR with eleven ribbons of the Soviet republics. The lining of the cap is silk without stamps and inscriptions, the underband is made of soft brown leather. The original gold embroidery and filigree cord are well preserved, there are only minor damages. Cockade and buttons in original gilding.
The double-breasted uniform is made of castor color "sea wave". On a solid silk lining, fastened on the left side with six large gilded buttons with a coat of arms on 11 ribbons. The collar is stiff, standing with slightly sloping ends. It fastens with a single hook sewn at the base of the collar. The upper edge and ends of the collar are trimmed with colored cloth edging and double gold edging. On the front ends of the collar of the uniform there is gold embroidery in the form of a laurel branch. The sleeves of the uniform with straight cuffs, edged at the upper edge and ends with colored edging. On the cuffs of the sleeves of the uniform there is gold embroidery in the form of a laurel branch. Pocket flaps are sewn on the back of the jacket, at the ends of which one large uniform gilded button with a coat of arms is sewn. The edges of the valves are sheathed with colored cloth edging. The edge of the left side is sheathed with colored cloth edging. Absolutely perfect preservation of gilded buttons with the coat of arms of the USSR with eleven ribbons of the Soviet republics, which have not been altered since the manufacture of the uniform. The field of the uniform has extensive damage from moths, small traces of darning, the gilding of the originally installed shoulder straps of the Major General is slightly wiped. The field of shoulder straps is made of a special braid of golden thread, edging on the shoulder strap of red cloth. On the shoulder straps there are two five-pointed stars embroidered with gold thread and originally installed uniform gilded buttons with the coat of arms of the USSR. Dress trousers-breeches are also made of sea-green fabric with red cloth general's stripes. Such trousers-breeches were a new element of uniforms, which did not exist before 1945, in our time this element of the form of clothing is extremely rare. The set also includes a pair of patent white leather gloves, a belt introduced in April 1945 with pass straps for carrying a 1943-style saber or a dirk, boots with leather soles and wooden nails. The saber shown in the photo is not included and is sold separately.
It was in this form that marshals and generals of the Red Army participated in the Victory Parade in 1945. The creation of such a form testifies to the high level of reverence for the military traditions of the past in the final period of the war. This set of dress uniforms for generals and marshals of the Red Army was introduced by the decision of the Main Quartermaster Department of the Red Army No. 1412 in April 1945. Canceled for generals and marshals of aviation and tank troops by order of the Minister of the Armed Forces of the USSR dated February 24, 1949, for all others by order of the Minister of Defense of the USSR No. 45 dated April 9, 1954.
