The ceremonial uniform of the Major General of the Red Army Air Force in 1945

A uniquely rare set that belonged entirely to one person. The kit includes:

1. Ceremonial uniform with shoulder straps of the Major General of the Air Force. The double-breasted uniform is made of castor in the color "sea wave". It has a solid silk lining and is fastened on the left side with six large gilded buttons with the coat of arms of 11 republics. The collar is stiff, standing up with slightly sloping ends. It is fastened with a single hook sewn at the base of the collar. The upper edge and ends of the collar are lined with colored cloth edging and double gold edging. On the front ends of the collar of the uniform there is gold embroidery in the form of a laurel branch. The sleeves of the uniform have straight cuffs, edged at the top edge and ends with blue piping. There is gold embroidery in the form of a laurel branch on the cuffs of the sleeves of the uniform. Pocket flaps are sewn on the back of the tunic, at the ends of which one large gold-plated uniform button with a coat of arms is sewn. The edges of the valves are lined with cloth edging. The edge of the port side is lined with blue cloth edging. Absolutely perfect preservation of the fabric and gilded buttons with the coat of arms of the USSR, which have not been worn since the manufacture of the uniform. The sewing of the sleeves has minor damage. The jacket has shoulder straps of the Major General of the Air Force. The Red Army. The field of shoulder straps is made of a special braid of gold braid, edging on the shoulder of blue cloth. On the shoulder straps there are two five-pointed stars embroidered with gold thread and original gold-plated buttons with the coat of arms of the USSR.

1. The ceremonial belt for the supreme command staff of the USSR, one of the suspension passes for a dirk or a saber is lost, the second is included. The ceremonial uniform of the generals of the Red Army was introduced by the decision of the Main Quartermaster Directorate of the Red Army No. 1412 in April 1945.  The uniform for generals and marshals of aviation and tank forces was abolished by order of the Minister of the Armed Forces of the USSR dated February 24, 1949, and for all others by Order of the Minister of Defense of the USSR No. 45 dated April 9, 1954.
