A uniquely rare French jacket in almost excellent collectible condition. The rarity is due to the way it is sewn – instead of a 6-button one, it is made with a 5-button closure, which, apparently, was necessary, given the small stature of the owner. Images of such jackets are extremely rare, and the items themselves are represented by single samples in collections. A photo of wearing a similar 5-button jacket is presented in the ribbon of the item.
It was introduced by Order of the People's Commissar of Defense of the USSR No. 176 dated December 3, 1935. It is sewn from a gray woolen covercote fabric, with a silk lining to the bottom, closed, single-breasted, without a flap, with a clasp for 5 large uniform buttons. The collar of the jacket is turn-down, with crimson edging at the edges; the sleeves are double-seam with straight cuffs. The chest pockets are patch pockets with bow pleats and three—seam flaps, with a zipper for one uniform button, side welt pockets with flaps of the same shape as the chest. Infantry buttonholes with insignia of a senior political officer of the Red Army are sewn on the ends of the collar of the jacket, and stars of the political composition are on the sleeves. There is a crimson edging on the cuffs. Cancelled by order of the People's Commissar of Defense of the USSR No. 005 dated February 1, 1941. Guarantee of authenticity.
