A military engineer's jacket of the 3rd rank of the VOSO sample of 1935

An extremely rare French jacket in almost excellent collector's condition. It was introduced by Order of the People's Commissar of Defense of the USSR No. 176 dated December 3, 1935. It is sewn from khaki wool blend fabric, with a cotton lining to the bottom, closed, single-breasted, without a flap, with a clasp for 6 large uniform buttons. The collar of the jacket is turn-down, with crimson edging at the edges; the sleeves are double-seam with straight cuffs. The chest pockets are patch pockets with bow pleats and three—seam flaps, with a clasp for one uniform button, side pockets are welt with flaps of the same shape as the chest ones. Velvet buttonholes of the Military Communications Service (VSO) with rank 3 military engineer insignia are sewn on the ends of the collar of the jacket.
