Steel, enamel, nickel plating, stamping. The original badge is in excellent collector's condition. The badge is a basic round medallion, which is suspended from two chains to a block in the form of a silhouette of a two-body aircraft (heavy bomber K-7 or ANT-20 "Maxim Gorky"). In the center is a large five-pointed red star with the inscription "Ready for air defense." The sign shows a gas mask (bottom), a siren (left) and a pump or a device for degassing (right). The left side of the sign is decorated with ears of wheat, and the right side is made in the form of a gear wheel. The lower ribbon is covered with red enamel with the inscription "OSOAVIAKHIM of the USSR". The sign on the original twist. Guarantee of authenticity.
The "Ready for Air Defense" complex was introduced by the Central Council of OSOAVIAKHIm in 1935. To receive such a badge, Soviet citizens learned how to properly use a gas mask, provide first aid in case of fires and gas attacks, as well as organize the protection of their home or factory. This version of the sign on the chains was produced from 1935 to 1939, after which the design was simplified by removing the suspension in order to save metal.
