Porcelain, decal. Very beautiful and rare example of Soviet propaganda porcelain collectible in perfect condition. On the Cup depicts Mikhail Mikhailovich Gromov, a Soviet pilot and military leader, Colonel-General of aviation, athlete, Professor, Hero of the Soviet Union. The Cup is made in memory of a non-stop flight Moscow — North pole — San Jacinto, perfect 12-14 July 1937 the ANT-25 in composition: the commander of the crew — Mikhail Gromov, co — pilot major A. B. Yumashev and Navigator boeninger 3rd grade and S. A. Danilin. The diameter of the mouth of the Cup 77 mm, height 71 mm. On the bottom there are a pair of threadlike cracks. The guarantee of authenticity. It is extremely rare.
It was the second non-stop flight from the USSR to the USA on the route Moscow — North pole — San Jacinto (California, USA), which were established two world record distance on a straight line (10148 km) and broken (11500 km) lines (including 5500 km over the oceans), perfect for 62 hours 17 minutes. The airport in San Diego was unable to take them because of bad weather, so the place of their landing was the field ranch. After a few hours the crew received a congratulatory message from the leaders of the party and the Soviet government: "Gromov, Yumashev, Danilina. Congratulations on a wonderful completion of the flight Moscow — North pole — United States of America and establishing a new world record for flight distance in a straight line. Admire your heroism and art, shown in the achievement of a new victory of the Soviet aviation. Workers of the Soviet Union are proud of your success. Hugging you and shake your hand." In Washington, the Soviet pilots presented to President Franklin D. Roosevelt. A conversation with Roosevelt lasted more than an hour, at the end of which the Secretary Hall said, "What a pleasant, intelligent young people! No work of diplomats would not be able to do in 10 years what he did you your flights for the rapprochement of peoples of the Soviet Union and America". Only a month later, the pilots, sailed to Europe on a passenger liner Normandie, he returned to Moscow square and the streets of the city were full of people. George hall of the Kremlin welcomed by the whole of the Communist party and personally Stalin. For this flight M. M. Gromov was awarded the order of Lenin, and Umasheva Danilina A. B and S. A. were awarded the title hero of the Soviet Union (decree of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR from September 1, 1937). The international aeronautical Federation (FAI) has awarded the pilots and Navigator medal Henri de Lavaux for best achievement in 1937.
