A pair of original shoulder straps of the captain of the NKVD border troops in excellent collectible condition. Cloth, silk braid. Height 2. Not worn. Guarantee of authenticity.
Initially, the everyday shoulder straps of the "bottle" form were introduced by Order of the People's Commissar of the NKVD No. 126 of February 18, 1943, but literally within one or two months the form of shoulder straps was changed and brought into line with the 6-carbon form of shoulder straps, also introduced for the Red Navy. Unfortunately, we do not know the documents about this change; most likely, it was due to the simplification and unification of tailoring - the re-equipment of a huge army and NKVD troops, as well as the sewing of new insignia in wartime conditions required enormous financial costs and time (which was not enough). "Bottle" shoulder straps are often called "experimental", but this is not so - apparently, they simply did not have time to start their widespread production. At least, they are very rare in photographs of that time, extremely rare in collections (authentic), and are widely known only in a hand-drawn form from the appendix to the said Order and modern copies of various quality tailoring.
