On January 6, 1943, the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR "On the introduction of shoulder straps for Red Army personnel" was signed, announced by the order of the NGO No. 24 of 10.01.1943. On January 15, 1943, the order of the NGO of the USSR No. 25 "On the introduction of new insignia and changes in the uniform of the Red Army" was issued. By Order of the NCO of the USSR No. 79 of 02/14/1943, shoulder straps were installed for the higher, senior and middle engineering and technical personnel of the communications troops, engineering, chemical, railway, topographic troops and administrative personnel. These shoulder straps existed until the end of 1946, when the Technical Specifications of the Technical Specifications of the SSU No. 1486 dated 9.10.1946 for officers of the Armed Forces, shoulder straps with an upper part were installed on the model of shoulder straps of generals and Navy officers – with a cut corner vertex: the upper part of the shoulder straps became an isosceles trapezoid, and the shoulder straps became hexagonal.
