Vasiliev Vladimir Alexandrovich (1895, Moscow – 1967, Moscow). Painter, graphic artist, theater artist, teacher. Professor. In 1910-1918 he studied at the Stroganov Art and Industrial College at the sculpture department under A.P.Baryshnikov, S.V.Noakovsky, in 1918-1923 at VKhUTEMAS at the painting faculty under P.P.Konchalovsky. Founding member of the Society of Easel Artists (OST) (1924). Designed and illustrated books for the State Publishing House, Detgiz, etc. He participated in the creation of monumental panels for the Soviet pavilions at the World Exhibitions in Paris (1937) and New York (1939), for the pavilion "Far Eastern Region" at the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition in Moscow (1939). During the Great Patriotic War, he created posters "Windows of TASS" together with Yu.Pimenov. He designed performances for Moscow theaters (together with Yu.Pimenov). In 1945-1952 he taught at MIPIDI, from 1952 – at the Moscow State Pedagogical University. Participant of exhibitions since 1919.
