"At-bats, soldiers were coming..." is a 1976 Soviet feature film directed by Leonid Bykov. This is his last directorial work and his last film role. The film tells about the meeting of the children of front-line soldiers thirty years after the end of the Great Patriotic War at the very place where their fathers took their last fight. The plot intertwines the events of the 1970s and the tragic events of 1944, when eighteen young soldiers of the Komsomol platoon stopped a column of German tanks near a small village at the cost of their lives.
