Churguy-ool namgaevich Khomushku (TUV. Khomushku, Crgi-ool Namgay-oglu 10 may 1918, Khondelen, Uriankhayskiy edge — July 10, 1978, Bert-Dag, USSR) — Tuvan and Soviet officer, tank commander, participant of the great Patriotic war, hero of the Soviet Union. Born may 10, 1918 in the village of Khondelen.
20 may 1943 churguy-ool Khomushku part of the first group of volunteers of the Tuva national Republic went to the front. Some time Tuvan volunteers underwent military training in the city of Gorky. In February 1944 the Tuvan volunteers were enrolled in the 25-th separate tank regiment. February 25, 1944, the regiment in which he served churguy-ool Khomushku, became part of the 52nd army, 2nd Ukrainian front. In March 1944 the regiment took part in the bug-Dniester offensive.
March 5, 1944 during the breakthrough of the enemy defense near the villages of Ryzhanivka and Kobyliaky (Kiev, now in Cherkasy, region) the tank, the crew of which the driver-mechanic was Khomushku churguy-ool, at full speed rushed into the enemy positions. Fire and tracks tankers destroyed weapon emplacements and manpower. Within two hours along with his crew Khomushku destroyed 35 enemy soldiers, three anti-tank guns, seven machine guns and two mortars. When the tank commander was wounded, the driver took command of the fighting machine itself.
After a few days, near Uman, three tanks, among which were machine Khomushku churguy-ool, captured 24 aircraft, 80 vehicles, has captivated hundreds of soldiers and officers of the enemy and opened the way for further advance.
Decree of the Presidium of the USSR Supreme Soviet of 24 March 1945 to second Lieutenant Khomushku churguy-ool Naguevichi awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union and the order of Lenin and medal "gold Star" (No. 7008).
