A rare and interesting lot of military postcards from a family of Hero of the Soviet Union I. A. Sergetov. Lot includes 4 cards during the war, two of which are signed by hero in the name of his daughters, one daughter was sent by the father to the army, the fourth signed by some of the pashas also the name of the daughter of the hero. Isaac Ananiyovich Kargatov (1904-1945) — Colonel of the worker-peasant red Army, participant of the great Patriotic war, hero of the Soviet Union (1944). Born April 15, 1904 in the village of High Hill (now the Smolensk district of Smolensk region). In 1921 he graduated from the Smolensk railway school No. 30. From 1920 he served in the special forces. After demobilization, he worked first at the mine, the logging, the construction of the railway bridge. In 1924 Sergetov returned home, where he was elected Chairman of the village Council. He served in the worker-peasant red Army. Following his release in 1929, Sergetov created in the homeland commune "Brotherly family". In 1931 Sergetov was on the party's call re-drafted into the army, was an instructor at a military school in Kalinin. Participated in the Soviet-Finnish war. June 1941 — the great Patriotic war. He participated in battles near Leningrad, commanding 174th mortar regiment 42nd army of the Leningrad front on Nevsky patch. Particularly distinguished himself during the final lifting of the blockade. 15-20 January 1944 Sergetov through the defense and firing system of the enemy near the Pulkovo heights, ably led his regiment, which in those battles and destroyed 57 machine guns and suppressing fire 16 artillery batteries. Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR from July 1, 1944, for the "manifestation of personal heroism and courage, for the organization of clear interaction with the infantry, skillful and adaptive management of fire and maneuver," Colonel Isaac Sergetov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union and the order of Lenin and medal "gold Star" No. 3742. Later Colonel Sergetov became commander of the 42nd mortar brigade. In this position, he participated in the liberation of the Baltic States and Poland. 22 Jan 1945 in the Berlin suburb Sergetov was killed by the splinter of a German shell. Buried at the Bolsheokhtinsky cemetery in St. Petersburg.
