Propaganda satirical postcard "On Hassan's border" ("Any aggressor will smash his copper forehead..."), 1939.

A rare original Soviet propaganda postcard from the pre-war period in excellent collector's condition. The publication was published in 1939 and is the brightest monument of Soviet political satire, vividly reflecting the official doctrine of the absolute inviolability of the borders of the USSR against the background of recent victories of the Red Army and border troops in the Far East (at Lake Khasan in 1938 and on the Khalkhin Gol River in 1939).

On the front side, at the top of the card, is the famous official quote by Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR V. M. Molotov from his report at the historic XVIII Congress of the CPSU (b) in October 1939.:

"Any aggressor will smash his copper forehead against the Soviet border post." (From the speech of V. M. Molotov at the XVIII Congress of the CPSU (b))".

The central part of the graphic field is occupied by a cartoon plot, masterfully executed by the legendary trio of Soviet graphic artists — Kukryniks. In his trademark expressive and grotesque manner, a foreign interventionist (a caricature general) is depicted literally flying back like a spring, crashing against a monumental red-green border post with the inscription "USSR". The scattered elements of his equipment and clothes are shown in the air and on the grass: a saber, shako, glasses and boots. In the lower part there is a succinct, striking poetic slogan by the poet Mikhail Kossovsky.:

"This is the fate of the enemy
At the border post!"

The reverse side is clean, has not passed through the mail, without traces of household pollution, ink inscriptions, blots or postmarks. The design includes a standard "Where To" address grid. / To whom" and the "Place for the stamp" frame. The large heading "Postcard" is duplicated below in the international Esperanto language — "POŜTA KARTO". The name of the publishing house is placed in the upper left corner.: The state publishing house "Art".

In the lower part, under the dividing line, the full publishing and typographical information is written in small print: "On the border of Hassan." Hood. V.Briskin and V.Fomichev (Note: despite the explicit indication of the Kukrynikses as authors on the cliche itself, there is a typographical inaccuracy in the text line or the authors of the entire series are indicated), Verse by M. Kossovsky, Ed. by N. Bolberg. Full. Glavlita No. A-12155, "Art" No. 6313, circulation 50,000 copies, order No. 49, lithograph of the publishing house "Art", Moscow, 1939, Dmitrovsky, 9, price 15 kopecks. A small pre-war circulation of 50,000 significantly increases the collector's rarity of this specimen.

The object has a high historical, cultural, museum and antique value. Such a harsh propaganda philocarty of the pre-war years is of great importance for understanding the era. Due to the fragility of the material and the tragic events of the subsequent Great Patriotic War, single copies have survived to the present day in an unused form. A wonderful exhibit in the collection of Soviet graphics, the history of the NKVD Border Troops, the Red Army and pre-war satire.

Excellent collectible preservation for a paper artifact from the pre-war era. The postcard has no creases, tears, traces of wetting or restoration. The thick pre-war paper has retained its smooth texture and the natural light shade of the time (natural patina), pleasant to the eye. All the colors of the lithography on the front and the fonts on the back remained perfectly clear and contrasting. On the bottom right side of the back there are pale, neat pencil marks of the collector, which do not spoil the appearance of the lot.
