Propaganda satirical postcard "The Japanese troops went to Hassan...", 1939.

A rare original Soviet propaganda postcard in excellent collector's condition. Released in 1939, it is the most striking monument to the Soviet-Japanese armed confrontation in the Far East and the crushing defeat of the forces of the Japanese Imperial army at Lake Hassan in July — August 1938.

The front side is made in the genre of a multi-plot satirical comic (splint) and is divided into four numbered graphic blocks, consistently ridiculing the aggressive plans and the logical ending of the Japanese interventionists. The drawings were made by the famous Soviet graphic artists Veniamin Briskin and Vasily Fomichev in an expressive, grotesque manner. Each panel is accompanied by an ironic poetic text by the poet Mikhail Kossovsky:

"The Japanese armies were marching to Hassan, and these armies led Yamachi." (A caricature military commander on a horse pompously leads soldiers to storm the heights).

"But just crossed the border... they look: fog? or just birds?" (The interventionists are warily peering into the sky over the Soviet borders).

"This is not a bird's flight, But a combat air fleet!" (Japanese troops panic at the sight of a rapidly attacking armada of Soviet red-star aircraft).

"The belligerent Yamachi has been beaten and the armies have been defeated with him!" (The final scene of the complete rout: the defeated general and his soldiers fleeing in terror).

The reverse side is clean, has not passed through the mail, without traces of household pollution, ink inscriptions, blots or postmarks. The design includes a standard "Where To" address grid. / To whom" and the "Place for the stamp" frame. The large heading "Postcard" is duplicated below in the international Esperanto language — "POŜTA KARTO". The name of the publishing house is located in the upper left corner.: The state publishing house "Art". In the lower part, under the dividing line, the full publishing data is written in small print: Glavlita No. A-12153, "Art" No. 6312, circulation 50,000 copies, order No. 47, lithograph of the publishing house "Art", Moscow, 1939, Dmitrovsky, 9, price 15 kopecks. The small pre-war circulation significantly increases the collector's rarity of this specimen.

A vivid, characteristic example of pre-war Soviet visual agitation. The object has a high historical, cultural, museum and antique value. An excellent exhibit in the collection on the history of the Red Army, border troops, Soviet satire and philocarty.

Excellent collectible preservation for a paper artifact from the pre-war era. The postcard has no creases, tears, traces of wetting or restoration. The thick pre-war paper has retained its smooth texture and the natural light shade of the time (natural patina), pleasant to the eye. All the colors of the lithography on the front and the fonts on the back remained perfectly clear and contrasting.
