An original and quite rare badge in excellent condition. Bronze, enamel, stamping. The badge was established by Decree of the Great National Hural of the MPR on August 16, 1940. The date on the sign "August 1939" signifies a decisive moment in the military confrontation. The badge is a circle covered with blue enamel, which depicted a silver horseman with a saber in his hand. The badge was made at the Moscow Mint, but there are also known signs made artisanal in workshops in Mongolia. A red banner with the Latin inscription "August 1939" ("Avgust 1939") is flying above the rider, and the inscription "HALHINGOL" is written in Latin letters on the red ribbon below. The badges "Participant in the battles at Khalkhin Gol" were awarded only to those Red Army soldiers who continued to serve in the Trans-Baikal Military District after the end of the events. Those of them who left for permanent duty after the end of hostilities, as was the case, for example, with the pilots of the 1st Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment, were left without well-deserved awards. The outbreak of the Great Patriotic War did not allow the process of awarding all participants of the events to be completed. By Decree of the Presidium of the Great National Hural No. 181 dated December 29, 1966, the badge "Participant in the battles at Khalkhin Gol" was given the status of a medal.
