An original and quite rare badge in excellent condition. Tompack, enamel, stamping. The badge is made in the form of a figured shield: in the upper part there is a round white medallion with the inscription "SNIPER" and a golden hammer and sickle on a red background. The sides of the shield are framed by branches of oak leaves. The lower part of the sign depicts two crossed Mosin sniper rifles with optical sights. The fastening of the sign to clothing is screw-type (using a pin and a twist nut). Guarantee of authenticity.
It was established on May 21, 1942. It was awarded to the rank and file and junior commanders of the Red Army, Navy and NKVD troops. He was awarded for outstanding achievements in marksmanship, excellent command of personal weapons, skillful disguise and successful destruction of the enemy. The period of awards: from 1942 to 1957 (was abolished due to the introduction of a new system of military insignia).
