This commemorative badge was issued in 1984 to mark the half-century anniversary of the creative union, established in 1934. The main editions of the signs were made at the Leningrad Mint (LMD) from heavy metal (tompack) using hot enamel. Bronze, gilding, enamel, stamping. In the upper left corner there is an overhead bas—relief of Maxim Gorky, the first chairman of the board of the union and a key figure in Soviet literature. The base of the composition is a waving banner covered with ruby-red enamel, with the golden inscription "Union of Writers of the USSR". An overhead element in the form of an ink pen symbolizes writing, and the number 50 indicates the anniversary being celebrated. The golden leaves at the base of the badge emphasize the honorary status of the award and recognition of merit. Guarantee of authenticity.
