The sign "25 years of victory in the 1941-45 war"

Aluminum, gilding, enamel. Excellent collector's condition. The sign is a five-pointed star with faceted rays, between which smaller faceted pillars pass, forming a multipath composition. A wreath of oak leaves is placed on the star, in the center of which is a figure of a Soviet soldier in a summer field uniform of that time and wearing a helmet. In his left hand, the soldier holds a PPSh-41 machine gun, and in his right hand is a red flag pole, which is turned to the left, and has longitudinal grooves under the enamel, creating an imitation of folds, and in the roof is an image of a red five—pointed star, sickle and hammer located under it. Turning to the right (to the west), the warrior tramples the black imperial eagle of Nazi Germany with his right foot. To the right of the shaft, there are two lines of dates: "1945-1970". The lower half of the wreath is covered with a red ribbon with the inscription: "25 years of victory in the 1941-1945 war." The badge is attached with an eyelet and a ring to a heptagonal shield, the upper and shoulder sides of which have segmental cutouts. An image of the St. George ribbon runs along the shield from above, from right to bottom, and from left, onto which a laurel branch is superimposed perpendicularly. All the details of the sign are golden. The badge "25 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War" was established by Order of the Minister of Defense of the USSR No. 59 dated March 17, 1970. The badge was awarded to all military personnel of the period of the Great Patriotic War and the war with Japan, who were part of the active army, as well as military personnel of socialist countries who took part in the war as part of the Soviet Armed Forces. Initially, the badge was conceived as a medal in honor of the quarter-century anniversary of the Victory. The development of the sketch was entrusted to Alexander Borisovich Zhukov, an artist at the Technical Committee of the State Pedagogical University of the USSR Ministry of Defense. Later, a lot of objections arose, since the production of the medal resulted in a large amount of money. The USSR Ministry of Defense, having calculated the costs, decided to limit itself to a sign made of cheaper light metal.  On the letterhead of the certificate to the sign there is an inscription: "For valor and bravery in the Great Patriotic War."  This sign was very popular with war veterans. Later, they began to call him that: the "War Veteran" sign.  The badge "25 years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War" is a medal that did not become a medal.
