On April 1, 1949, new uniforms were introduced for the Air Force officers, and along with them, badges for their specialties. Three signs were introduced: pilot, navigator and Aviation Engineering Service Specialist (IAS). In 1958, the regulation on the classification of NAS officers was extended to the officers of the Air Force and Navy aviation repair and technical bases. The sign has decreased in size. On November 29, 1960, new requirements were introduced for assigning class to flight personnel. The size of the signs has also decreased. In 1971, due to the introduction of the higher degrees of flying skills - "Sniper Pilot" and "Navigator Pilot", the signs of the pilot and navigator were changed.
