O. Leonov's book "Soviet award-winning cold steel"

The book offered to readers is the first in the history of Russian faleristics and weapons science research devoted entirely to the history of the emergence and development of Soviet award-winning cold weapons, from the Civil War in Russia and before the end of the USSR in 1991. In addition to a detailed consideration of the regulatory and legal issues that determined the status and position of award-winning weapons in the established Soviet system of state awards, the book describes in detail little-known unrealized projects for the introduction of various types of award-winning cold steel. Of particular interest to the reader will be the publication of the most complete selection of personalized award weapons belonging to the leaders of the Soviet state, famous commanders, marshals and generals. A separate section of the book is devoted to gift and memorial weapons related to the life and activities of participants in the Civil War in Russia, as well as well-known Soviet political leaders.
