I.P. Sukhanov's book "Masterpieces of bladed weapons"

An original and quite rare book published in St. Petersburg in 2004. This is a richly illustrated catalog album based on the materials of the exhibition of the same name. Compiled by I. P. Sukhanov (Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, leading specialist of the Central Naval Museum). Atlant Publishing House. The publication is a full-fledged scientific study at the intersection of weapons science and biography. It contains descriptions and photographs of 268 exhibits — rare and unique samples of cold steel from the collections of museums in St. Petersburg, art workshops and private collections. 

The content is divided into thematic chapters:

1. Award-winning weapons: the history, descriptions and illustrations of the samples symbolizing the valor of the Russian army.


2. Author's and artistic weapons: the products of famous craftsmen and workshops (for example, the work of the Shafs, Zlatoust arms factory).


3. Rarities and personalized blades: weapons that belonged to famous historical figures or have unique ownership characteristics (monograms, monograms).
