The Order of the "Red Banner of the Georgian SSR" is a badge of distinction, which was established in 1921 by the corresponding resolution of the CEC of the Georgian SSR. The Government of the Republic has decided to introduce its own Order of the Red Banner. The new badge of distinction was intended for representatives of different nationalities who took an active part in the formation of Soviet power in the territory of Transcaucasia, as well as defended their Homeland from external and internal aggressors. The Order of the "Red Banner of the Georgian SSR" was made a little later than the similar sign of the Armenian SSR. As the basis for the sign, the national Georgian shield of a round shape was taken, in which a square is inscribed. A saber was placed on the square. In addition, above it was a red star with a hammer and sickle. The shield is completed with a red flag that reads " Proletarians of all countries, unite!"in Georgian. The visually depicted wind, which is drawn on this order, blows from the eastern side, which is considered a rarity on the insignia of that time. For this reason, the banner is turned in the opposite direction to the others...
