Collection "Baltics — heroes of the Soviet Union", 1941

A rare copy of the collection, published in 1941 by the State Naval Publishing House of the NKVD of the USSR (Voenmorizdat) in Moscow and Leningrad. The book contains essays and stories about the exploits of the first submariners and pilots of the Baltic Fleet. These soldiers were awarded the title of Heroes of the Soviet Union for their courage and bravery during the Soviet-Finnish War (1939-1940). The book was signed shortly before the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War (in May 1941). The format of the publication is 107*145 mm. Hardcover. The volume is 194 pages. The table of contents lists the names of the famous Baltics:

• A. Tripolsky (Alexander Vladimirovich) — commander of the submarine "S-1".


• A. Konyaev (Anatoly Mikhailovich) is the commander of the submarine Shch-324.


• F. Vershinin (Fyodor Grigorievich) is the commander of the submarine Shch-311.


• I. Romanenko (Ivan Georgievich) is a fighter pilot of the 13th Fighter Aviation Regiment of the KBF Air Force.


• N. Tokarev (Nikolai Alexandrovich) — commander of the 2nd mine-torpedo squadron of the 63rd Aviation Brigade of the Black Sea Air Force (seconded to the Baltic).


• V. Savchenko (Vladimir Mironovich) — fighter pilot, assistant squadron commander of the 13th IAP.


• A. Poskonkin (Alexander Romanovich) is a Red Navy man, helmsman of the submarine Shch-311.


• F. Radus (Fyodor Nikiforovich) — squadron commander of the 57th high-speed Bomber Aviation Regiment of the KBF Air Force
