The novel describes the expedition of Professor Marakot, who, with his companions, biologist Cyrus Headley and mechanic Bill Scanlan, descends using a bathysphere—type apparatus into the deep—sea depression of the Atlantic Ocean (located 200 miles southwest of the Canary Islands), where he discovers a sunken city inhabited by the descendants of the Atlanteans. The publication was signed on December 24, 1943, and was published in April 1944. Guarantee of authenticity.
