Denis (real name Denisov) Viktor Nikolaevich [24.2(8.3).1893, Moscow, - 3.8.1946, Moscow]. Soviet graphic artist, one of the founders of the Soviet political poster, cartoonist, Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1932). He studied under N. P. Ulyanov. In the 1910s, he collaborated in the humorous magazines "Alarm Clock", "Satyricon", "Sun of Russia", etc. Since 1921, an employee of the newspaper "Pravda". Denis's posters and caricatures are characterized by political sharpness, a satirical and genre solution to the theme, and a clear contour drawing with local color spots.
