Description

A beautiful artistic picture taken by the hand of the most famous Soviet photographer – the author of the famous picture "The Banner of Victory over By the Reichstag" by Evgeny Khaldei (1916-1997). The photo was taken during Chaldea's participation in the Nuremberg trials as a photojournalist, where his photographs were one of the physical evidence. Pictures of authorship Evgeny Ananyevich's prints are extremely rare, authentic prints are always highly sought-after lots at any auction, and personal items sell for tens of thousands of dollars (for example, in 2014 his Watering Can was sold at a Bonhams auction for 200 thousand dollars). Size 245* 185 mm. The reverse side is clean. Guarantee of authenticity.

History

The Palace of Justice (German Justizpalast) is a complex of buildings in Nuremberg (Bavaria), which today houses the Court of Appeal (German Oberlandesgericht), the District Court (German Landgericht), the local court (German: Amtsgericht), the Prosecutor's Office (German: Staatsanwaltschaft) and the Museum of the history of the Nuremberg Trials (German: Memorial Nürnberger Prozesse). In the east wing of the Palace of Justice, in the jury room, also known as "Hall No. 600", the Nuremberg trials were held in 1945-1949. The building was erected between 1909 and 1916 according to the design of architect and high-ranking Bavarian construction official Hugo von Hoefl and architect and construction official Gunther Blumentritt in the Franconian Neo-Renaissance style. The construction cost was 7,137,923 marks. The building consists of three parts: the main building with three courtyards and atriums, as well as the western and eastern buildings, which can be accessed via connecting bridges on the ground floor. The main facade, which stretches along Furterstrasse, is decorated with coat of arms cartouches and figured architectural sculptures. Shortly after the outbreak of World War I in September 1914, a military hospital was set up in the already built western building. The hospital was converted into a private hospital on October 1, 1919, and it was closed until 1922. After that, for the first time, the entire complex was occupied exclusively by judicial authorities. At the end of World War II, the complex was subjected to two air raids: on November 27, 1944 and February 21, 1945. After the end of the war, the U.S. Army occupied the Palace of Justice in July 1945.
